Asked about the jazz flavor that sometimes turns up in his music, Yunakov insists that, while he admires jazz, he is not a jazz player. Once the Eastern Bloc broke up, "wedding music" was free to blossom in Bulgaria and to influence trends elsewhere in Europe and beyond.
